Section 7Wa
US 220 to VA 600 (Back Creek Road)
12.8 miles (7.0 miles road walk, 5.0 miles paved)

General Description of section

This section includes Hidden Valley and Back Creek Mountain.  The actual direction is east and west, and in fact the “south” end of this section is further north than the “south” end.  This section is largely road walk, with the exception of the Bogan Run Trail, which crosses Back Creek Mountain.
There is a plan to build a trail along Muddy Creek to connect to US 220.  This would connect to the Hidden Valley Trail, which connects to the Hidden Valley area.  This trail would take away most of the road walks, and shorten the section by 2 miles.
